Suffolk County Private Investigator - Stills or Video - Nassau County Private Investigator
Posted By Suffolk County Private Investigator:
There is an increasing request and execution in the field, of video documentation as opposed to photographs. We have been favoring video since opening our doors.
Our field investigators are equipped with both still cameras and video recorders. In general, video simply tells a a better story. Stills are great for identification purposes or for many other types of cases needing simple documentation, such as a picture of a home, business, auto or a person needing identification. But for the majority of cases we investigate, such as infidelity and insurance fraud, child custody and divorce, video has the advantage.
There are no lighting issues with video, as there are with cameras. We can take very low light stills without flash, but not in complete darkness without infra-red. Infra-red stills for those purposes are fuzzy. Infra-red video, on the other hand, is just better quality and we can shoot in any light. Even total darkness. No worries about shutter speed, blurring etc. It's all automatic.
Further, with video, we can capture great quality stills directly from the video itself. With our High Definition camcorders, the stills are phenomenal. So that completely kills the need for still cameras in many cases.
